Swiss Cycling Top Tour Challenge
The Swiss Cycling Top Tour links Switzerland's most important cycling events. Now LaceUp brings it into the digital world – with checkpoints, badges and a …
Collection formats, trophies and timing
Trails, summits, huts, slopes or stages become GPS-verified checkpoints. The experience happens outdoors, the measuring runs in the background: registration, tracking, leaderboards and automated emails in your brand’s design.
Guests come back several times a season instead of once a year.
Race day becomes a relationship that lasts months.
Activation under your own brand instead of rented reach.
Activity programmes with real routes instead of generic step counters.
Charity runs with your story and your contacts.
Trails, towers, museums or huts as collectible points.
Together we define checkpoints, rules, rewards and the season logic.
Registration, tracking and leaderboard are embedded into your website, via iFrame or API, in your brand’s design.
Participants collect, LaceUp measures, and your marketing automatically gets occasions for emails, social posts and sponsor deliverables.
Every registration lands in your database, with consent. With a Strava challenge, the contact stays with Strava.
Learn moreCheckpoints spread visits across the whole season, on weekdays and in side regions too.
Learn moreEvery checkpoint reached, every badge, every level is an occasion for a personalised message. Automated and sponsorable.
Learn moreYou see who was where and when — and can prove it to sponsors and boards.
Learn moreWebsite, emails, badges and leaderboards run in your design. LaceUp stays in the background.
Learn moreSign-up, profile and progress run on your domain and in your visual identity. Everyone who registers lands in your database with consent – as a contact you may still address after the season.
For comparison: with a challenge on Strava or another third-party platform, people register with the platform, not with you. You get a report, but no relationship. After the season, the contacts stay in your database, ready for the next campaign.
You decide how much each checkpoint is worth – and steer where people go. Quiet valleys, off-season weeks or weekdays can be deliberately boosted with bonus points and time windows, without forbidding anyone anything.
Because a challenge runs over months rather than on one race day, visits spread across the whole season. A trophy with twelve points is, on average, not a single trip but a series of outings.
Pass conquered, best time set, level reached: emotional moments automatically trigger personalised messages – at the right moment, without anyone at your end having to think of it. Every level reached, every new checkpoint and every leaderboard is also an occasion for a newsletter, social post or press release.
Each of these messages is a sponsorable touchpoint: a sponsor's day package becomes a season package with measurable, personalised contacts. In many projects a single sponsoring partner covers the whole season.
You see which points are visited how often and in what order – GPS-verified instead of self-reported. For sponsors paying per deliverable, that's the difference between trust and proof; for boards and reports, a robust basis for decisions.
What exactly gets evaluated is defined together in advance. For reports, aggregated, anonymised evaluations are usually sufficient – the activity data itself belongs to the participants.
Leaderboard, start list and activities are embedded into your website via iFrame; an API is available for complex integrations. Registration and login run through a portal branded with your logo and background image – emails, including layout and copy, adapt to your brand.
No third-party branding, no prescribed layout: the stage belongs to your brand, LaceUp stays in the background and delivers GPS, fairness and automation.

Collecting checkpoints — passes, summits, villages. The format that carries the whole season and turns a race day into a months-long relationship.
All formats can be extended with digital badges — for reaching a number of checkpoints, say, or completing all routes in one day.
Total time across multiple routes
Timing to the second, with route validation.
Total time across several segments within one activity.
Not every challenge runs across a season. For classic races, LaceUp times to the second with route validation – no mats, no chips, no on-site setup.
In short: with the alternatives you give up your brand, your contacts or the evaluation. With LaceUp, all of it belongs to you.

Michael SchildThree packages, all prices per season. Whether collection format, timing or both combined, billing is by checkpoints/routes.
Up to 5 checkpoints/routes. Registration, GPS verification and leaderboard in your branding.
Up to 12 checkpoints/routes, formats freely combinable. Badges and automated emails included.
Up to 25 checkpoints/routes. Additionally multilingual support, partner and sponsor logic, and custom evaluations.
More than 25 checkpoints/routes or several regions: on request.
The more checkpoints/routes your format includes, the cheaper each one becomes: from CHF 1'000 in Pilot to under CHF 550 in Programm.
For perspective: in the Saison package and with a thousand participants, a new consent-based contact costs you under ten francs. Not for one click, but for a whole season of touchpoints. In many projects a single partner or sponsor carries the entire season.
We work in three-year cycles because a format grows in its second and third year. Across three seasons, prices are 20 percent lower.
We work with three packages per season: Pilot from CHF 5'000 per season for up to five checkpoints/routes, Saison at CHF 9'200 per season for up to twelve checkpoints/routes including badges and automated emails, Programm from CHF 13'500 per season for up to 25 checkpoints/routes. With a three-year agreement, prices are 20 percent lower.
On request we also deliver projects end to end, including concept, copy, graphics, photos, videos, marketing and website.
For the concept we plan on one or two workshops. After that, your effort lies mainly in communication: embedding happens via iFrame or API on your website, while registration, tracking and evaluation run with us.
We handle technical support for participants entirely.
Lead time from order is around six weeks – from the concept workshop to the embedded, ready-to-launch challenge on your website.
The leaderboard, the start list and the latest activities can be embedded into your own website with a simple iFrame. For complex integrations, an API is available.
Registration and login for participants run through our portal, branded with your logo and background image.
Emails such as registration confirmations and notifications for new badges or stages can be customised in layout and copy.
For the integration on your own website you use our iFrames with a neutral layout. You can use your own icons per stage, checkpoint or badge. In emails you can adapt the logo and the copy.
With the API integration you have full control. We are happy to advise you and show you various examples.
Data is hosted with Hetzner in Germany, in ISO 27001 certified data centres entirely within the EU. Processing follows the GDPR and the revised Swiss Data Protection Act (revFADP); Switzerland and the EU mutually recognise each other's level of data protection as adequate, so data exchange is cleanly regulated. A data processing agreement is in place with Hetzner.
LaceUp is operated from Zurich. Activity data belongs to the participating athletes; as the organiser you receive a time-limited, purpose-bound right of use.
Yes. Every checkpoint reached, every badge and every level is an occasion for a personalised message – and thus a sponsorable deliverable. In many projects a single sponsoring partner covers the whole season.
We work without physical on-site infrastructure. So there is no minimum number of participants and no cost per start place.
Because a challenge runs across the whole season rather than on one race day, participation builds up over months – even late joiners still collect checkpoints.
Yes, that is possible. You can add a payment step to the registration flow. Participants can then only register once you have approved them.
Geographically, there are no limits to your event. Since we work without any physical on-site infrastructure, we can run events anywhere in the world.
We handle technical support: participants can reach us directly through our support form, and we help quickly and competently – e.g. with drained GPS devices, detours, GPS outliers and the like.
Activity data fundamentally belongs to the participating athletes.
As the organiser, you receive a time-limited, purpose-bound right to use the relevant data within your event (e.g. leaderboards, segment times, completed checkpoints, contact details). This right serves exclusively the operation, analysis and communication of your event.
Good to know: with Strava challenges (i.e. without LaceUp), the rights to segment times remain with Strava. Commercial use of that data may violate Strava's terms of service. Segment times recorded by LaceUp, by contrast, are our own measurement data and legally free to use within the scope of your event.
The contacts who registered with you with consent stay in your database – they belong to you, not to someone else's app.
The right to use the activity data is time-limited and purpose-bound to your event. Leaderboards and results remain available as a reference for the coming season.
Tell us briefly where you’re planning a challenge and for whom. We’ll get back to you within two working days with a first assessment and a guide price.
