The TdS Explorer is an open participation challenge: anyone – cyclist, e-biker or pedestrian – can visit the host cities and stage locations of the Tour de Suisse and become an active part of the event.

Between April and September the checkpoints can be visited without any classic race setting – the focus is on experience and participation, not competition.
Flow & participation
- Registration is free.
- Connecting a tracking tool (e.g. Strava, Garmin) is required – visits to checkpoints are then registered automatically.
- A city or region (checkpoint) counts as completed when you move through it with a recording activity device.
- Every completed checkpoint city earns points or progress – with rewards and prizes possible.
Audience
- Leisure cyclists and e-bikers who do not want to race but to experience.
- Sports fans who identify with the Tour de Suisse brand.
- Tourism and outdoor fans looking for a new way to actively explore Switzerland and the host towns of the Tour de Suisse.
Highlights & benefits
- Inclusive & flexible: no start time, no race barriers – take part whenever and however you like.
- Brand and event attachment: the connection to the Tour de Suisse brand creates emotion and community.
- Regional visibility: the Tour's host towns gain additional attention and guests.
- Digital automation: tracking, registration and rewards run largely digitally – less effort for organisers.
Why it is interesting for partners / sponsors
- Big reach within the Tour de Suisse brand environment: active participants, outdoor experience, brand attachment.
- Data and digital activity generate insights into user behaviour, regional visits and participant motivation.
- The possibility to feature a region or destination as a checkpoint and become part of the experience story.
- A sustainable experience format that is not one-off but works across the season.
